Entropy 101

Ways to make Entropy Increase Quickly

• Increase the population. People create entropy as they live.
• Increase the level of technology, or the use of technology.
• Increase the level of power consumption.
• Start big fires.
• Blow up big things.
• Encourage bakery. Lots of bakery.
• Start wars. Wars generate entropy quickly. Be careful to be sure the population levels don't fall too low.
• Encourage greed, waste and commerce.

Ways to Slow the Increase of Entropy

• Lower population levels.
• Kill every living thing. Be careful: most ways of destroying a lot of things creates a lot of entropy - including mass germ warfare.
• Turn societies away from technology and power systems. Have them make wooden furniture instead.
• Discourage sex and procreation.
• Convince everyone that all physical exercise is evil.
• Start violent low entropy wars to kill off the population. This is usually difficult to accomplish well.
• Stop high entropy wars.
• Encourage natural ways, communing with nature and general tree hugging.
